DEAR DEIDRE: NEITHER marriage nor children appeal to me – am I being selfish? My family certainly thinks I am.
I’m a man of 37 and my girlfriend is 34. We have been together for eight years.
Ever since I was a child I’ve said I don’t want children. It’s why some of my past relationships have ended.
My girlfriend and I have a great life with good jobs.
We regularly go to gigs and weekends away and often have a couple of good holidays a year.
We are happy the way things are.

My girlfriend says she isn’t bothered about children either.
