Miranda Zilkowsky, from California, decided to keep her pregnancy off the grid, hiding it from everyone except her husband. 

The new mom revealed she didn’t have any kind of special announcement, baby shower or gender reveal because she wanted to keep her pregnancy just between her and her husband – although she did tell her parents when she was 30 weeks along. 

In an attempt to keep the baby bump hidden, Miranda – who works from home – lounged in sweats and oversized clothing so she wouldn’t let the cat slip out of the bag.

‘POV: You kept your pregnancy a secret for nine months,’ she said in a viral video, which has garnered 3.2 million views, before explaining her decision

While showing off a collection of photos and videos from her pregnancy the new mom described her choice to hide her pregnancy as ‘probably one of the best decisions I ever made.’

From the excitement when she saw the positive pregnancy test to celebrating the gender with her husband, to her growing baby bump and cuddling her daughter – Miranda shared footage of their pregnancy journey on her social media after their daughter was born. 

Miranda explained that she and her husband chose to keep it a secret because it made their journey to parenthood ‘so special’. 

‘We didn’t have a baby shower or gender reveal, and that’s okay…’ she said.

‘Because look at us now.’

The couple made their own ‘gender reveal’ as they filmed themselves discovering the gender of their baby. 

In a follow-up video, Miranda showed herself two months before giving birth while wearing a hoodie and leggings, explaining that she works from home and works for herself making it easy to hide her pregnancy. 

Users were shocked by Miranda’s decision to hide her pregnancy from the world, many questioning why Miranda wouldn’t want ‘the love and support’ from others.

One user said: ‘I don’t understand hiding it. I couldn’t wait to tell everyone. I even lost three pregnancies, I was glad to have the love and support through it.’
