Nick Jonas Confirms Priyanka Chopra Engagement, Engaged

The news of Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra‘s engagement broke about two weeks ago and while we’ve just been operating under the impression that a wedding is coming, neither of the celebrities officially confirmed the news. And, as ~reliable~ as insiders usually are, it’s always good to wait until information comes straight from the source’s mouth, especially when we’re talking about a couple that’s been together for, like, five minutes. The 25-year-old finally spoke out about the engagement at a party last night, however, so you can stop wondering if Nickyanka is really headed toward the alter.

The “Find You” singer attended the launch party for his new John Varvatos fragrance in New York City on August 8 and was not-so-surprisingly congratulated on his engagement by a fan in the crowd. An eyewitness tells Us Weekly that when NJ heard the partygoer’s congrats, he graciously responded, “Thanks, man.”

And there you have it! Nick’s confirmation comes with just two simple words, which is something we’d TOTALLY expect from him.

The 36-year-old actress couldn’t make it to NYC to party with her fiancé because she’s in Mumbai filming The Sky is Pink, but she did use social media to congratulate him on the launch.

“Congratulations @nickjonas and @johnvarvatos! Go get it,” she captioned a picture of the cologne bottle on her Instagram Story with the words, “‘Fragrance makes us dream.’”

But just because NJ spoke about the engagement doesn’t mean we can expect the same from the Quantico alum.

“My entire life — my personal life — is not for public consumption,” she said during a Q&A on Monday, August 6, in India. “Ninety percent of my life is for public consumption, but 10 percent is for me. I’m a girl; I have the right to keep that to myself.”

She continued, “My family, my friendships and my relationships are things I don’t think I need to defend or explain to anyone. I am not running for office, so I don’t think I need to give explanations… Sometimes I laugh, sometimes I get annoyed. Mostly, I tell my publicists, ‘Let it be. Today’s news is tomorrow’s trash.’”
