Some 112 people died when the Perth to London sleeper rammed into the back of a local commuter train throwing carriages into the path of the London to Manchester and Liverpool Express travelling at 60mph.
An automatic warning system was then fitted across much of the rail network.

Five thousand residents sought protection from the local Dutch Bishop Frans Schraven, among them 200 young women who feared being forced into sexual slavery by the soldiers.
