In the latest episode of 22 Kids & Counting, the couple looked back at the three decades of their relationship.
The pair visited locations which also had a special link to their bond.
One of these was the site of their first business, a bakery.
In 1999, Noel, who trained as a baker, decided to invest in a bakery and sandwich shop with Sue helping.
It was located in a small area near Morecambe to begin with where the bakery was running smoothly for two years.
But in 2001, the couple made a decision which almost saw their marriage break down almost beyond repair.
Noel admitted the couple decided to invest in a prime high-street location and move the business there.
He claimed it was the "worst thing I ever did".
They had been working on a pie business which had started to take off, so they decided to take out a loan to expand.
At the location, which is now a mobile phone shop, Noel said he "hated the place".

He said: "To start with, it did well and then foot and mouth hit the country and I think Cumbria was one of the worst affected areas and it just killed the tourism."
Their business quickly dried up, with the couple finding themselves in debt.
The mum added: "You would go to bed thinking about the debt, wake up thinking about the debt, wake up in the night thinking about the debt.
"If anything would have caused us to get a divorce, it was this shop.
"Looking back now, it was a time where I genuinely thought our marriage would not pull through. We'd get divorced and that would be it. It was absolutely awful."
Although the site didn't work out, Sue admitted if failing was something the couple had to go through, then it made them stronger.
