Another day, another “dupe”. This time it’s Primark’s turn to find viral fame on TikTok thanks to one of its budget beauty products. Actually, a kit, to be more exact. The bargain retailer is selling a PS…Sweet Handbag Collection Lip Set, £7 in stores nationwide, which TikTok users say looks very similar to some of Charlotte Tilbury’s lip kit offerings, namely the Pillow Talk Luscious Lip Slick kit, £64 here.
Both of the kits contain one velvety lipstick, one matching shade of lip liner and a lip gloss. Primark’s kit even contains an additional juicy lip gloss for use alone or over lipstick to give it a nice sheen. TikTokers even note the rosy pink colour of the lipsticks in the two kits being similar in shade.
One user named charleymaeeexo posted about the Primark kit on her TikTok page after discovering it in her local shop in August. Captioning the video: “Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Set Dupe”, Char goes on to show each of the four products in the kit in close-up details.
The video, which has been liked nearly 3.5k times, has racked up quite a few comments from other users who are keen to snap the Primark bargain up for themselves.
“This had better be in my Primark today,” says one, while a second adds: “OK I need these dupes”.
A third points out: “That’s only like £2 per product”.
Other videos have since been posted by fellow beauty shoppers who have spotted the Primark kit and drawn a similar comparison between it and the Pillow Talk collection. One user even goes as far as to say the packaging and the shades look “near identical”.
We’re not sure anything can really beat the original Pillow Talk pink – after all, there’s a reason it’s a favourite of Kate Moss and Amal Clooney – but if you’re looking for a way to save a bit of money with a lip kit that offers similar contents to Charlotte’s, go forth and shop away!
