The Duke of Sussex ‘misses home’, according to Meghan Markle’s best friend and makeup artist.
Prince Harry, 38, is currently living in his $14 million mansion in California with the Duchess of Sussex, having stepped back from royal duty in 2020.
Speaking to People, Meghan’s close friend Daniel Martin explained: ‘Harry has definitely found his vibe and is very settled in California. But he does miss home.’
Seattle-born Daniel has been friends with Meghan since meeting while she was filming Suits in Toronto in 2011 and won high praise for creating Meghan’s natural make-up look at her 2018 wedding.
US-based Martin, who inner circle, has often been on hand when the couple carry out engagements in the UK and abroad.

Speaking previously about their friendship, Daniel revealed that Meghan didn’t have a publicist, so she personally reached out to Daniel’s agent at The Wall Group when she was in need of a make-up artist.
He said they both had an ‘instant connection.’
‘I knew what she wanted—it was one of those things where, she looked at herself in the mirror and was like, “Oh my God, this is what I always wanted, but I didn’t know how to get there,” he told d beauty website Into The Gloss
The pair then kept in touch and while working on her former blog The Tig, Meghan asked Daniel to give her a helping hand.
Daniel has not been shy talking to the press about his royal connection. In December he told People magazine that Harry and Meghan are ‘loving life’ as a family-of-four, at their $14m mansion in Montecito.
‘It’s about finding that work-life balance now. They’re experiencing it themselves,’ Daniel said after joining Meghan in New York in November.
He added: ‘Harry jokes around a lot, and Meghan is really funny. It was nice to have those belly laughs again!
‘They are loving life as a family of four. ‘They’ve struck a rhythm as a foursome.’
His latest comments come after Meghan hit back at claims she is dodging the Coronation because she believes the Royal Family failed to tackle its ‘unconscious bias’ before Megxit, declaring that she ‘is going about her life in the present’.
The Duchess said she is not thinking about ‘conversations from four years ago’ having reportedly written to King Charles III following the explosive interview she and Harry gave to Oprah Winfrey in March 2021.

Oprah was left open-mouthed when Meghan had said that a senior royal had ‘concerns’ about how ‘dark’ Archie’s skin would be when he was born in ‘several conversation’ about it, including with Harry.
In a statement to US magazine Harper’s Bazaar, press secretary Ashley Hansen insisted: ‘The Duchess of Sussex is going about her life in the present, not thinking about correspondence from two years ago related to conversations from four years ago.
‘Any suggestion otherwise is false and frankly ridiculous. We encourage tabloid media and various royal correspondents to stop the exhausting circus that they alone are creating.’
Omid Scobie, the Sussexes’ preferred royal reporter, was the first to post the statement from Meghan’s press team yesterday.

Earlier reports said that Buckingham Palace is also aware of the Sussexes’ frustration that initial correspondence about the Coronation from the Royal Family made no reference to their children.

The Duke of Sussex’s relationship with his family has been poor since the Sussexes left for the US and stood down as working royals.
It worsened following the Oprah interview, when the late Queen declared that ‘recollections may vary’ after the couple made claims about racism in the Royal Family and Meghan’s allegation that the Firm failed to care for her when she was pregnant with Archie and felt suicidal.
Relations have continued to sour after the Sussexes’ six-part Netflix docu-series and the publication of the Harry’s revealing memoir, Spare.
Charles, who at the time of their press campaign was Prince of Wales, is said to be disappointed that Meghan and Harry felt the need to make such damaging allegations public.
