The Princess of Wales’ wardrobe is the gift that keeps on giving. Today she eschewed her recent dopamine dressing agenda and gave her classic countryside aesthetic a city girl makeover, with the help of none other than Victoria Beckham.
Kate Middleton made a solo trip to Leeds on Tuesday after the launch of her new early years campaign. Hello!’s Phoebe Tatham explained: “Bringing the cause to the heart of the community, the Princess of Wales met vendors and members of the public at Leeds Kirkgate Market to discuss their experiences of early childhood.”

Naturally, the Princess served us with some major style inspo on her outing. Shades such as green and brown typically epitomise country dressing, but Kate schooled us in how to nail the colour combo for a super sophisticated city vibe.
Kate wore a bespoke Alexander Mcqueen coat
She stepped out in Leeds wearing a forest green Alexander Mcqueen coat. The Princess also has the same double-breasted bespoke number in red, but opted for her go-to green colourway –. another one to add to her enviable green coat wardrobe.
She paired the elegant coat with the brown suede Gianvito Rossi boots she sported at Sandringham last month for a festive outing. Knee-high boots are an absolutely necessary addition to your wardrobe if you’re planning on recreating one of the Princess’ countryside or city looks.
She elevated the Victoria Beckham dress with a waist belt
The Princess kept the outdoors-y colour palette but eschewed her military coat and green fedora hat, replacing them with the lapel coat and a cotton-blend midi dress from Victoria Beckham’s eponymous brand.

The multi-faceted fashion mogul’s brand is known for its chic silhouettes, elevated separated and elegant dresses. Clearly the Princess has been taking her cues from the designer, as a midi dress and boots is Victoria Beckham’s signature-chic attire (take her epic all-black look from Paris Fashion Week, for example).

As if we couldn’t love her any more, the Princess wore her second pair of gold earrings in two days that cost less than £80. She wore the ‘Biaritz’ earrings from Shyla London, retailing at £74. With yesterday’s siren-red Mcqueen suit she wore chunky dangle earrings from Chalk that cost £75.
She’s a versatile dressing, affordable earring aficionado and we love her.
