Race Across The World is about to crown the winner of the third series – and it has left fans wondering what happened to the stars of previous series.
The popular reality series – which has inspired even more outlandish concepts – follows travellers as they attempt to make their way across a part of the world using absolutely any means necessary – except for air travel.
This time around, our intrepid adventurers are trying to make their way across Canada as quickly as possible.
They’re given funds equivalent to the cost of a one way plane ticket to their destination.
For series two, the contestants were trying to get across Latin America – but what happened to them after the show? Let’s take a look…
Emon and Jamiul Choudhury
Uncle and nephew duo Emon and Jamiul Choudhury proved that they were the most resourceful travellers of them all when they won series two of the show.
The pair scooped up a £20,000 cash prize but opted to donate half of it to charity after witnessing some of the poverty local children were living in.
Kind-hearted Emon has proven that he’s dedicated to doing good for others since the show and most recently ran the Manchester Marathon in April 2023 for Motor Neurone Disease.
Emon’s efforts were recognised in 2022 when he won a Pride of Britain award.
Nephew Jamiul, meanwhile, went back to complete his studies and now works as an architectural designer.
He’s also settled down and become a family man after welcoming a daughter named Lilliya in October 2021.
Jen and Rob Lambra-Stokes
Jen and Rob were beaten to the finish line by Emon and Jamiul by a galling twenty second margin, but still impressed fans with their dedication.
The couple became fan favourites with their constant – but relatable – bickering on the show.
They’re still happily together to this day and have since become parents to twin boys, named Luca and Lyle, who they welcomed in December 2021.
Dad Rob, who is deaf and spoke out about his disability on the show, now dedicates his time to raising awareness around his condition and has even launched his own company, Pardon?, which focuses on deaf accessible tech.
Jo and Sam Gardiner
Mum and son duo Jo and Sam Gardiner were eliminated after they ran out of cash during the seventh leg of the trip.
It was a devastating moment for fans who had grown fond of the pair.
Their story only became more upsetting when it was revealed at the end of the show that Jo’s Blood Cancer had returned.
Four years later, though, she’s thankfully doing a lot better and her cancer is now in remission.
Jo and her son have kept traveling together and often share their adventures online.
Dom and Lizzie Slater
Brother Dom and sister Lizzie opted to do the show after fearing that they had grown apart.
The pair finished in third place after facing a series of challenges enroute, including Dom suffering from a seizure while at a bus station.
Lizzie now works for an influencer PR agency, appropriately called Influencer, which was founded by former YouTube star Caspar Lee.
Dom, meanwhile, works as an associate creative director for Soar With Us, an eCommerce company.
Shuntelle Greenidge and Michael Greenway
Shuntelle Greenidge and Michael Greenway were a couple when they decided to take on the Race Across the World challenge, but were forced to give up in just the second leg when Michael lost all of their cash.
According to her Linkedin, Shuntelle still works at KPMG and looks to be in the same job.
She’s kept a low profile since the show.
Michael, meanwhile, has appeared on The One Show and in a BBC dating documentary.
They’re believed to have split up since the show.
