Season 5 of The Crown drops in November which, yes, very exciting, but honestly it sounds like Season 6 will be taking things to a whole new level of drama. According to People, the folks behind the hit Netflix show are looking to cast an actor to play Prince William—and the role is described a “significant.”
Per the description on Casting Talent, The Crown is searching for an “exceptional young actor” to play Prince William, noting that “this is a significant role in this award-winning drama, and we are looking for a strong physical resemblance.”
The notice adds that shooting will begin in early September 2022, so looks like things are well underway. Also, no previous professional acting experience is needed, so if you’ve ever looked in the mirror and though “wow, am I Prince William?” this could be your chance.
So…what will The Crown Season 6 cover? TBD, but The Sun recently reported that instead of ending the series in 2002, it will now end in 2005 with the wedding of Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla.
“It’s a small but significant shift because it’s seen as marking the start of an era which becomes more focused on Princes William and Harry and their father,” a source said. “The marriage of Charles and Camilla is treated like the end of one turbulent period in the Windsors’ story and the start of a whole new one.”
So yep…a lotta Harry and William content coming our way. Especially if rumors about a sequel centering on the brothers and Prince Charles are true.
