Andi Peters has become a staple to our TV screens over the years, having started out as a children's TV presenter before going on to appear on shows such as This Morning and Good Morning Britain.

The 52 year old can usually be found advertising competitions on ITV's morning shows and occasionally filling in for hosts, including Lorraine Kelly.

Andi is known for his fun personality and first shot to fame as the host of BBC's The Broom Cupboard, which saw him pair up with iconic puppet Edd the Duck. He fronted the show for four years before deciding to leave in 1993.

Andi went on to present BBC Children's comments programme Take Two as well as Live & Kicking, alongside John Barrowman and Emma Forbes.

In 1996, Andi left Live & Kicking, much to the surprise of viewers, and seemed to disappear from the spotlight despite being one of CBBC's biggest deals at the time.

However, the star decided to go behind the camera and he joined Channel 4 as a producer, ultimately going on to kickstart the careers of some of today's biggest TV personalities.

Andi launched the careers of presenters including Dermot O'Leary and Vernon Kay and he even hand-picked the first cast of iconic reality TV show Shipwrecked.

The 52 year old is even still in touch with many of the stars who he helped during his time at Channel 4, and he previously told Metro: "Loads. Ben Shephard works on the same show as me. I still talk to Dermot O’Leary, Margherita Taylor, June Sarpong, Vernon.

"There’s a generation of people who grew up with T4 so it’s interesting when people come up and say it meant a lot to them. Yesterday a girl came up to me in a coffee shop and said she was in the first series of Shipwrecked and I cast her. Jeff Brazier was in Shipwrecked and he still works in TV."

In 2003, Andi headed back to work for the BBC and began running its music and lifestyle programmes, such as Top of the Pops, Later with Jools Holland and the coverage of Glastonbury Festival.

Two years later he quit, after deciding that presenting was his true "passion" and he went on to host BBC One's City Hospital.

"[Presenting is] my passion. I started out as a presenter and without that I wouldn’t have been able to produce anything. And unlike producing, you don’t have to take the work home with you.

"Once you’ve done the show, it’s done. When you’re producing, you’re sometimes managing big teams and that never stops. I thought I’d go through a phase of presenting for a while," the star previously told Metro.

He's continued presenting ever since and can be jetting off to exotic locations to host competition segments across Loose Women, GMB and This Morning, and he also fills in for hosts when they're absent – he most recently hosted This Morning alongside Rochelle Humes as Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby are off on their summer break.

Despite Andi enjoying a lengthy career in the spotlight, he has managed to keep his personal life entirely private with fans knowing extremely little about the TV presenter away from the cameras.

He's not believed to have ever been married, but has never publicly confirmed this relationship status. In 2016, he shared a post on Twitter which hinted that he is single.

Andi has opened up the doors to his stunning house in the past however, and he even hosted a segment for GMB from his abode during lockdown.

He's also an avid fitness fan, working out three days on and one off, and does not drink alcohol. Giving an insight into his routine, Andi previously said: "I have protein shakes at least every day. I go to the gym, so my muscles are fatigued a lot, so the shakes help keep the muscles strong."
