SUPERMARKETS will be opening for the special VE bank holiday this Friday, but some have adjusted their hours.
Plenty of stores are also running dedicated opening times for vulnerable people or NHS workers because of coronavirus, which may also apply over the weekend.
The government has asked everyone to limit their shopping as much as possible.
But if you've got your weekly shop planned over the bank holiday – here's everything you need to know about each supermarket's planned hours.
Aldi opening hours
Aldi stores will be open from 8am till 8pm on the bank holiday Friday.
On Saturday shops are open from 8am till 10pm, while on Sunday its 10am -4pm.
Aldi usually opens half an hour early for vulnerable and elderly customers Monday to Saturday and this will also apply to the bank holiday.
Asda opening hours
Generally, Asda hours vary by store, so your best bet is to check the store locator for local hours.
Opening times usually vary from 6am to 8am, although most branches have reduced opening hours to help staff keep shelves stocked during the lockdown.
Many stores now close at 8pm instead of 10pm on Monday–Saturday and 5pm on Sundays.
The Sun has asked Asda for it's VE Day opening hours, but has not yet had a response.
Iceland opening hours
Iceland's opening hours will be the same as every other weekday – which is usually 9am to 6pm.
The supermarket says there are some variations between local stores so you should check opening times here.
The last hour of opening times is reserved for NHS, other healthcare and social care workers.
Iceland's Food Warehouse stores are open from 8am to 7pm.

Lidl opening hours
During the bank holidays, the majority of Lidl stores across England and Wales will be open from 8am – 8pm.
Stores within the M25 and Scotland will stick to their normal opening hours.
These can vary by store, so Lidl recommends checking your local's hours using the store locator tool.
Morrisons opening hours
Morrisons stores will be operating their usual hours over the bank holiday.
The majority of our stores will be open from 7am – 10pm on Monday to Saturday, and 9.30am – 4pm on Sunday.
The first hour on Monday to Saturday is dedicated for NHS workers to shop.
Scottish stores are open 8am – 8pm on Sunday.

M&S opening hours
All M&S Foodhalls are open over the bank holiday, including those that are found in larger stores.
On Friday, M&S will be operating its usual opening times.
This includes reserving the first hour of trade for NHS and emergency services workers and health and social care workers.
For store specific opening hours, customers should always check their local store info on the M&S website
Sainsbury's opening hours
For the May bank holidays, most Sainsbury's supermarkets will be open from 8am to 8pm.
Throughout the rest of May, the vast majority of stores are open from 8am to 10pm.
A small number of Sainsbury’s Locals and supermarket opening times may vary change, so customers should check the store locator for the most up to date information.
Tesco opening hours
Tesco is operating its usual hours over the bank holiday weekend.
These are subject to local restrictions and may vary store to store.
The supermarket is advising customers to visit the Tesco Store locator to check their local store’s opening times.
Waitrose opening hours
On Friday May 8, the majority of Waitrose shops will be open from 8am – 8pm, with some Little Waitrose shops opening from 7am – 10pm.
On both Saturday and Sunday most Waitrose shops will trade their normal hours.
Before visiting, Waitrose is telling customers to check the opening times of their local branch here.
The first hour of trade in at Waitrose is dedicated to the elderly and vulnerable and this will continue to apply over the weekend.
Shell and Welcome Break stores will trade as usual, with some Welcome Breaks closed and others now open for 24 hours.#
