What you need to know about this weekend’s full moon and lunar eclipse: Emotional turmoil and major changes are imminent for every star sign

Emotional turmoil is on the cards this weekend thanks to the Hunter’s full moon and lunar eclipse.

According to astrologers the cosmic event ends a two-year period of work and will be marked with a series of dramatic, heartfelt breakdowns and breakthroughs. 

Speaking to FEMAIL Rose Smith warned the October full moon, which falls on Sunday, will be more potent than the typical full moon. 

‘The most important thing we’ll need to do is embrace change!’ she said, noting it won’t be easy.

Ms Smith, who also runs Absolute Soul Secrets, the largest psychic network in the southern hemisphere, said the full moon will bring with it transformation.

‘Practical matters and money will become more important… challenges to the physical body, material things like luxury items or real estate are also likely,’ Ms Smtih said.

She added we have been in a powerful period of manifestation – known as the gateway period – which happens between a solar and lunar eclipse. 

But that doesn’t mean people will be given exactly what they have been asking for. 

‘It’s important during this full moon and lunar eclipse not to cling to ideas too much – as change is coming.’

‘This change in the air is finally brought down to earth. As hard as it might seem, it’s possibly better to create a flow rather than trying to maintain the status quo.’

She says the weekend will feel uncomfortable but as the changes take affect everything will start to feel right again. 

Taurus is also a fixed mode star sign, along with Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius – so these star signs will feel the moon’s effects most strongly. Ms Smith said these signs can have fixed ideas about how things should be.

‘This lunar eclipse might really shake things up for these star signs… Let go of old ideas about ‘shoulds’ and start thinking about ‘coulds’,’ she said.

‘It’s time to leave the past behind and embrace the future! Don’t be resistant to change it’s a good time to accept it. Whether this is in our personal, work or world views, over the next few years we will be forced to cope with huge changes.’

Ms Smith said lunar eclipses are all about the ‘feminine’ and processing emotions, so they are more internal.

‘It will be a great time to have massages or essential things to do with the body… have a pampering day, have a facial.

‘Focus on inner work, meditate, work on resolving small things in yourself rather than focusing on big tasks you know you won’t finish.’

She said the timing of Sunday’s lunar event will also be a signal to let go of the past.

‘Do not hold onto the past – and if you can think about making yourself as self sufficient as possible.’

In the northern hemisphere, this full moon is called the Hunter’s Moon to mark the end of harvest season and the hunting that was done during this time of year. 

It could also be a good time to start a new relationship 

Hunters would use the light of the moon to track down game and stock up for the coming winter.

While a lunar eclipse occurs when the earth is directly between the moon and the sun, causing the earth to cast a shadow on the moon. 

Sunday’s event itself is going to be a partial lunar eclipse, meaning only a portion of the moon passes through the erth’s umbral shadow.

The full moon will reach its peak at 7.24am AEST on Sunday, October 29. The eclipse will be visible from Australia, Europe, Russia, China, Asia, Africa, North/East South America, Far North Eastern America, Atlantic, Arctic and Antarctica.

What does Sunday’s full moon mean for you?

Aries (March 21 to April 19):

 It’s not the time for impulsivity, especially regarding your money. There could also be some turbulence with communications as your ruler Mars opposes this eclipse so do watch for irritations with women. 

Possessions could give a sense of stability and you may be attracted to antiques or items with nostalgic value. On the upside, you could reassess your belief systems, decide that your self-worth is very important or reflect upon what you deserve in life.
