Having a famous best friend comes with more than a few benefits. You probably get invited to big-name events that you normally wouldn’t be allowed to attend, you get publicity just for being in connection with that person, and sometimes your bestie will even promote the projects that you work on. Unfortunately for stylist Jessica Mulroney, the royal family doesn’t operate like normal celebrities, so her best friend, Meghan Duchess of Sussex, has been restricted on what she can and cannot promote in the past.
Recently, Prince Harry and Meghan stepped away from the royal family which means Meghan is presumably free to do whatever she pleases. And now that she is partially living in Canada, she and Mulroney will probably be spending a lot more time together. So, will Meghan make an appearance on Mulroney’s upcoming Netflix show, I Do, Redo?
What is ‘I Do, Redo’?
Weddings are supposed to be the most perfect days in couple’s lives. Unfortunately, things don’t always pan out that way. Bad weather, obnoxious family members, coordination blunders, can all ruin a person’s nuptials. In her new show, Mulroney will help 10 couples get the chance to redo their weddings and take another shot at having the ceremony of their dreams.
“When I believe in something, I go after it at full speed, and I’m blessed to be able to create a show that truly inspires me,” Mulroney said in a press release. “We are aiming to make a significant difference in the lives of our chosen couples whose first weddings did not go as planned due to tragic circumstances. This is a side of the wedding industry that has never been shown on television before.”
Will Meghan Markle be on the show?
Meghan definitely knows about storybook second weddings. She had one of her own when she married Prince Harry after her divorce. But despite having experience in the arena, she won’t be appearing on her friend’s show.
A palace source told People that a report from the New York Post, which stated that Meghan would be on the show, was “categorically untrue.”
Canadian media company CTV, which partnered with Netflix for the series, also denied the claims via Twitter.
“The Duchess of Sussex does not appear in upcoming @CTV series I Do, Redo,” they tweeted.
Meghan Markle moving to Canada
Though she won’t be in Mulroney’s project, Meghan probably will be seeing a lot more of her best friend than she has in the past few years. After weeks of deliberation and negotiation with Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped away from their roles as royals.

“After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution. We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen. It is with your encouragement, particularly over the last few years, that we feel prepared to make this adjustment. We now plan to balance our time between the United Kingdom and North America, continuing to honour our duty to The Queen, the Commonwealth, and our patronages. This geographic balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter, including the launch of our new charitable entity. We look forward to sharing the full details of this exciting next step in due course, as we continue to collaborate with Her Majesty The Queen, The Prince of Wales, The Duke of Cambridge and all relevant parties. Until then, please accept our deepest thanks for your continued support.” – The Duke and Duchess of Sussex For more information, please visit sussexroyal.com (link in bio) Image © PA
“With The Queen’s blessing, the Sussexes will continue to maintain their private patronages and associations,” Buckingham Palace said in a statement. “While they can no longer formally represent The Queen, the Sussexes have made clear that everything they do will continue to uphold the values of Her Majesty. The Sussexes will not use their HRH titles as they are no longer working members of the Royal Family.”
Meghan and Harry will now be splitting their time between North America and the UK, which means that while Mulroney and Meghan won’t be on tv together, they will get to hang out off-camera.
