‘Let me tell y’all, I hated my name for so long,’ the 34-year-old said in the clip.
She went on to explain the first instance that started her dislike for her name.
‘In middle school, a teacher in front of the whole class, he said that my name sounded like someone was taking a s***.
‘The whole class just started laughing and I just started crying because like, why would you say that?’ she explained.
Damarys – who now exclusively goes by her middle name – said that the comment stirred up even more bullying outside of the classroom.
She then told her followers another story that ended in tears as she explained how her peers reacted when she joined the dance team.
Damarys said that the team was given T-shirts with ‘rookie names,’ or nicknames on the back.

‘They had people coming up to me trying to pronounce my d**n name on the back of my shirt and of course, every time we had to wear that d**n shirt I went in the back and cried,’ she said, while laughing.
And while Damarys was able to joke about the experience, she still refuses to share her first name with the world.
