How to clean your artificial Christmas tree

The popular artificial Christmas tree brand Balsam Hill recommends to ‘first, set up the tree in a place that’s cool, dry, and away from direct heat or sunlight.
‘Then lightly dust the pine needles with a dense fiber duster or a clean, dry cloth at least once a week, to prevent dust building up.
‘When it comes to getting mold off an artificial tree, using a pressurized air compressor or a hair dryer on a low, cool setting can remove mold from the tree’s branches.
‘The company suggests avoiding spraying water, soap, or vinegar on the tree because it may affect its lifelike quality.’
Balsam Hill rejected the idea of hosing down a tree outside.
It said that this result in damage to the plastic needles or the metallic tree trunks.
As for storing the tree after the holidays have concluded, the brand advises placing it inside a tight and durable storage bag and keeping it in a dry location.
If you find that your tree smells musty next year, let it air out on a porch or patio that is covered.
