Bowers & Wilkins has taken the wraps off its latest pair of wireless, noise-cancelling headphones.
The Px8 is the latest effort from the British brand and is very much in the same league as Apple’s premium AirPod Max over-ear headphones.
The new cans boast active noise cancellation and bespoke 40mm ‘Carbon Cone’ drive units angled within each earcup. What does that mean? Well, according to B&W listeners will find ‘performance is taken to even greater heights of detail, resolution and spaciousness.’
The headphones boast ‘exceptionally’ low distortion, even with the volume turned up.
Like other premium headphones, the Px8s feature active noise cancellation. There are six microphones built into the headphones that work to analyse and block out environmental noise pollution.
As with the company’s earlier Px7 S2 headphones, the Px8 uses Qualcomm’s aptXTM Adaptive wireless technology for the best possible sound quality from compatible phones, tablets and laptops.
But if you like your audio a bit more old-school, you can rely on wires. The Px8 supports both USB-C and 3.5mm analogue connections – with both cables included (alongside a carry case) in the box.
Giles Pocock, Vice-President of Brand Marketing at Bowers & Wilkins said: ‘I’m thrilled that today, we’re transforming customer expectations in the premium headphone category with our new Px8.
‘It perfectly encapsulates everything we stand for as a brand, with outstanding sound quality that properly reflects our True Sound promise, plus unrivalled design and finish.’
The headphones are available from today, 28th September, for £599.
