A teen whiz kid who set up a Twitter feed tracking Elon Musk's private jet has had his account banned from the site.

When the Tesla CEO first hinted at buying Twitter earlier this year, Jack Sweeney speculated that Musk would ban him in the event of a buy-out.

It seems that has finally come true, with the @ElonJet Twitter page now appearing as 'suspended' on the social media site.

This is despite the account sharing publicly available flight tracking data, and in spite of Musk's own self-proclaimed free speech crusade on Twitter.

Jack feared his days on the platform were numbered as early as April, when Musk first made a bid for Twitter.

Jack, who was 19 years old at the time and ran a spate of feeds tracking oligarchs' private jets (including Putin), speculated: "If [Musk] considers ElonJet a security risk rather than a critic then I'm probably gone."

Jack continues to operate a bot tracking Elon Musk's private jet as well as those of other celebrities via Mastodon and a range of other platforms, as he confirmed in a tweet today.

When Jack first created the ElonJet page, Musk offered him £3,700 ($5000) to take it down, saying: "It is a security risk. I don't love the idea of being shot by a nutcase."

Jack instead demanded a higher sum of £37,000 ($50k) and said: "It would be great support in college and would possibly allow me to get a car maybe even a Model 3."

If you want to see where Elon Musk's private jet currently is, you can head to Jack's website where he shares a full list of other platforms that host the tracker.

It's worth nothing that Musk has reinstated many other banned accounts, including those suspended for hate speech, incitement to violence, and much worse.
