Latest stats recently revealed that millions of Microsoft users refuse to ditch Windows 10 and make the switch the Windows 11. It’s a massive issue especially with that ageing OS losing full support and security updates at the end of 2025 – that’s just two years away!

There are already plenty of reasons to move over to Windows 11 – such as the constant release of new features and the promise of full security support – but a major update from US firm Qualcomm could make the move seem even more appealing.

The tech giant has just announced the launch of its new Snapdragon X Elite processor for Windows 11 PCs with the company boasting that this is their “most powerful computing processor” ever.

In fact, Qualcomm has confirmed that it delivers up to two times faster CPU performance than its rivals.

Thanks to the latest 4nm System-on-a-Chip architecture and a 12-core Qualcomm OryonTM CPU it should means laptops that have it installed will be able to perform the usual daily digital tasks at a much faster pace.

It’s also been created with AI in mind with Qualcomm stating that its Snapdragon X Elite has been designed to “support the intelligent and power-intensive tasks of the future.”

Another bonus of upgrading to a device that’s powered by this processor is efficiency with it expected that laptop users will get multiple days of battery life before needing to find a plug.

It also supports the latest 5G and Wi-Fi 7 technology for speedy downloads both at home and on the move.

There’s currently no word on what manufacturers will adopt the Snapdragon X Elite but previous Qualcomm chips have featured in laptops from Samsung and Lenovo. More news will be revealed soon so watch this space.
