Freeview and Freesat users will in a few weeks time see ITV Hub disappear from their devices forever. Earlier this month Freeview revealed that at the end of September almost a dozen Freeview enabled TVs will lose access to ITV Hub entirely. And hot on the heels of that announcement Freesat has now announced that ITV Hub will stop working on a number of Humax boxes.
From the end of September Humax Freesat boxes released between 2012 and 2018 won’t be able to run ITV Hub.
Like with Freeview, this news comes as ITV gears up to launch its new ITVX streaming service.
This free-to-use app is launching towards the end of 2022, and ITV has big plans for it – hoping it will become a “leader” in UK streaming.
To help with this, ITV will be airing exclusive shows on ITVX such as Spy Among Friends that launch on the app before heading to traditional TV channels further down the line.

In addition to this, ITV Hub will offer access to thousands of hours of on-demand content, will air high-profile live programmes such as the World Cup and Love Island Final as well as boasting a range of blockbuster movies and US boxsets.
Freesat said ITV Hub was disappearing from boxes such as the Humax HB1000s and Hdr1010s due to an update to the app that brings with it “more content, better picture quality, and content protection”.
However, the update – like with Freeview – is incompatible with some devices as the technology behind is not supported by older tech.
If you’re wondering whether you are affected then here’s a list of the Freesat and Freeview devices which will lose access to ITV Hub at the end of next month…
Affected Freesat boxes: Humax Hb1000s, Humax Hdr1000s, Humax Hdr1010s, Humax Hdr1100s, Humax Hb1100s

Speaking to Cord Busters about the upcoming change, a Humax spokesperson said: “Customers are currently being advised through email and their set-top boxes. If customers have any questions regarding their specific Humax device, our customer support team will be happy to help on 0344 318 8800.”
While Freeview previously added: “From the end of September the ITV Hub app will no longer be available on some Freeview devices.”
Newer Humax devices and more recent Freeview TVs won’t be affected by this change.
