Later this week Google will reveal more about the Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro and Pixel Watch at an event in New York. Pre-orders for these highly anticipated Google gadgets could open that day, and ahead of this launch, UK fans have been delivered some great news. According to well-known-insider Roland Quandt, customers in Blighty will get a free Pixel Watch when they pre-order the Pixel 7 Pro and a free pair of Pixel Buds Pro with the Pixel 7.
In a post on Twitter Quandt said: “Pixel 7 Pro pre-order gifts in some countries include the Pixel Watch.
“Pixel 7 pre-order gifts in some countries include the Pixel Buds Pro.
“(read: UK)”.
Considering the Pixel Watch is the first wearable ever released by Google, and has been eagerly anticipated by fans for years, throwing it in for free with the Pixel 7 Pro would offer fans a big reason to get the larger, more expensive flagship instead of the regular Pixel 7.
And, if the rumoured pricing turns out to be true, this Pixel 7 Pro and free Pixel Watch deal could represent remarkable value for money.
It was recently claimed that the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro will have the same pricing as their predecessors.
This is for the US at least where leaked listings allegedly showed the Pixel 7 will cost $599 with the Pixel 7 Pro available for $899.
It remains to be seen whether Google keeps UK costs for its Pixel 7 range the same as the Pixel 6.
This year the cost of plenty of products in the UK have gone up as factors such as inflation and the falling value of the pound hit.
In the UK the price of the PS5 rose almost two years since it first launched, while all of the products announced at Apple’s recent ‘Far Out’ event in September cost more in Britain than their predecessors.
We will have to wait and see if Google will follow suit but the free Pixel Watch and free Pixel Buds Pro are a way of potentially softening that blow.
But if the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro does launch in the UK at the same price as the Pixel 6 range these deals would offer incredible value.
If pricing remains steady then the Pixel 7 Pro could be available for £849, with the Pixel 7 priced at £599.
And considering the Pixel Watch is rumoured to cost £339 the Pixel 7 Pro would offer one big money-saving freebie.
Google has form too in offering free gifts to early adopters of its latest Pixel handsets.
Google Play Store: How to update on an Android device
When the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro launched last year Google was giving away free pairs of the Bose 700 noise cancelling headphones – which at the time were worth £350 – with pre-orders.
This free gift was only available for a limited time, so if Google does decide to give away its Pixel Watch with the Pixel 7 Pro it will likely only be for a short amount of time.
While there is plenty of speculation surrounding Google’s plans for the Pixel 7 and Pixel Watch fans don’t have long to wait for certain.
More will be revealed at this week’s Made By Google event which is being held in New York but also streamed online.
This week’s big Google event is taking place on Thursday October 6 at 7am pacific time, 12pm eastern, 3pm BST and 4pm CEST.
You can watch all the action on the Made By Google YouTube.
