Honda goes electric with prototype set to be revealed at the Geneva Motor Show

Honda has announced a brand new electric vehicle that it says is the start of an ‘electric vision’ strategy for Europe.

The Japanese company, which recently announced it was closing a factory in the UK and putting 3,500 jobs at risk, will be exhibiting at the Geneva Motor Show.

Ahead of time, it has revealed the ‘Honda e Prototype’ which is designed for the ‘urban environment’. Honda says it has a 200km range and a fast charge functionality that sees the battery juice up by 80% in 30 minutes.

Honda will officially unveil the car officially at the Geneva Motor Show on March 5, 2019 and will start production later on in 2019.

This vehicle is primarily focused on Europe as it won’t be able to get past US rules with the external cameras. But it’s still a big statement from the Japanese heavyweight which is clearly looking to muscle in on the EV space in the future.
