iPhone users can clear tons of storage space without deleting any files

Anyone who's had an iPhone for more than a few months knows how tricky it is to manage your storage space.

On top of having thousands of photos, screenshots, and videos, there's tons of data-hungry apps which can clog your device up with junk.

All of it adds up to slower performance, bugs, and less space for new files.

Fortunately, Apple has built a nifty feature into the Settings menu of the iPhone and iPad which can rapidly clear your device and free up some much-needed space.

The iPhone's 'Optimise' setting can convert all your photos and videos into smaller file types which are stored on your device.

That means you still get to keep all the items in your gallery but without full-sized high-res files clogging things up.

The full-sized files will still be stored in iCloud, which means you can access the maximum quality online while reducing storage size on iPhones.

To use it, you have to open your Settings app then tap your name.

Then, tap iCloud and Photos.

You need to make sure iCloud Photos if active and then toggle 'Optimise iPhone Storage' on.

You'll need to wait for the iPhone to do its work, but once it's complete you'll have a ton of new space on your device.

If you need to free up more space, just go to the Settings app then General > iPhone Storage.

It will show you all the apps you have installed and how much space they take up so you can delete them.
