iPhone users have been blown away by the revelation that their handsets have secret buttons—that can do almost anything.
The Apple logo on the back of the iPhone may look as if it is just for show, but it's actually a secret button that can activate any function you choose.
Known as 'Back Tap', you can activate it by tapping two or three times on the Apple logo in order to activate a phone function.
You'll have to choose what the button does yourself, whether that's changing the volume, taking screenshots, or locking the home screen. You can even use it to access Siri shortcuts.
To assign a function to Back Tap, go into your phone settings, and follow these instructions:
- Tap 'Accessibility'
- Then hit 'Touch
- Scroll down until you find 'Back Tap'
You can then assign a function to the hidden button and even select whether it will need a double tap or triple tap to activate.
Why is my WhatsApp not working? New update ends support for millions of smartphones
You don't need to buy one of the fancy new iPhone 13 either. The feature works on the iPhone 8 and up, and was included for free in the iOS 14 update, which means you'll have to update your software in order to use it.
If you have a thick or hard-wearing phone case, though, be warned: your taps might not register through it, so just double check this or consider changing your phone case if you really want to take advantage of it.
