Elon Musk only took over Twitter a few months ago, but this week he already floated the possibility of stepping down as the company's CEO.
The billionaire shared a poll asking users whether he should remain in charge of the company. Despite the fact that 57.5% of voters told him to step down, Musk has remained in post so far.
That hasn't stopped a range of random people coming out of the woodwork to put themselves forward for the job.
Undoubtedly the most qualified man for the role of Twitter head honcho is Tom Anderson, the founder of pioneering social network Myspace. 'Myspace Tom', as he's often known, has jokingly volunteered himself to Musk in a number of tweets.

When Musk initially asked whether he should step down and appoint someone else, Myspace Tom replied: "Depends who you get to run it!" and even posted a picture of his original Myspace profile.
However, it's unlikely that Myspace Tom will actually decide to take over the troubled tech company. He famously retired aged just 38. Instead of chasing billions, everyone's first 'friend' now spends his time surfing and going on luxury holidays—rather than working 1000 hours a week like Musk claims to do.
In the meantime, maybe the role should go to an underdog. Or, Snoop Dogg, who put up a poll of his own asking whether he should run Twitter. 81% of 3.3 million voters told him 'yes', which gives him a strong democratic mandate to take the reins from Elon Musk. However, given Snoop's penchant for smoking huge 'blunts' it's unclear how much the company would really get done.
There have been countless other volunteers and figures tipped for the job, including podcaster Lex Fridman, Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner, and a rogue's gallery of other chronically online ghouls and nerds.

But in all likelihood, it seems that Elon Musk is set to remain in charge at Twitter for the foreseeable future.
Last night, he tweeted: "I will resign as CEO as soon as I find someone foolish enough to take the job! After that, I will just run the software & servers teams."
Given that he has stripped back large parts of the company to nothing more than the software & servers teams, Musk is implicitly stating he will call the shots regardless of who the CEO is.
