After almost a month of waiting, the new iPhone 14 Plus is finally arriving in stores. This supersized smartphone was actually announced all the way back in early September during Apple’s ‘Far out’ event but it’s not been ready to ship until now. It will arrive in Apple Stores, other retailers and from UK networks such as EE and Three from Friday, October 7 and offers some big upgrades over the standard iPhone 14.

Firstly, there’s the bigger 6.7-inch OLED Retina display which offers around 20 percent more viewing area than the standard iPhone 14. That bigger form factor has also meant Apple has been able to pop a much larger battery inside its Plus phone.

If watching endless movies on your device is important then this could be the phone for you with the US technology giant boasting that the Plus will offer the best battery life on any of its smartphones.

Along with those big exclusive features, the iPhone 14 Plus also gets an upgraded dual-lens rear camera, improved performance from the A15 Bionic processor and something called Crash Detection.

This update will automatically call the emergency service if the vehicle you are in has a serious collision.

So that’s all the new features on the iPhone 14 Plus but how much is this device going to cost you?

Prices for the iPhone 14 Plus start from £949 for the 128GB version and rise to £1,279 for the ultimate 512GB model. That’s pretty expensive although it is still £250 cheaper than opting for the similar-sized iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Luckily, Apple is offering some big incentives to make things a little more affordable.

Firstly you can hand over your old device and get money off something new with some older iPhone worth over £600 via this trade-in scheme. All you have to do is select your current model answer a few questions and Apple will give you a price on what it’s worth.

Even if you don’t have a smartphone to trade in there is still a way to take away some of the financial pain.

Apple is currently offering zero percent finance on its iPhone 14 Plus range which allows you to pay for the device over two years.

That means you can pop the iPhone 14 Plus in your pocket for just £39.54 per month. Of course, that price doesn’t include any data, calls or texts but there are plenty of cheap SIM deals out there to help keep the cost down.

Here’s all the monthly iPhone 14 Plus pricing for each storage size.

• iPhone 14 Plus – 128GB • £39.54 per month

• iPhone 14 Plus – 256GB • £44.12 per month

• iPhone 14 Plus – 512GB • £53.29 per month

“Our customers rely on their iPhone every day, and iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus introduce groundbreaking new technologies and important safety capabilities. With the new, larger 6.7-inch display on iPhone 14 Plus, users can enjoy more content onscreen when browsing the web and even more text,” said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing.

“Both phones have a powerful new Main camera with a huge leap in low-light performance, advanced connectivity capabilities with 5G and eSIM, and the incredible performance of A15 Bionic, which helps enable even better battery life. All of this, tightly integrated with iOS 16, makes iPhone more essential than ever.”
