Robot dog owner offers reward to track down woman who kicked his £8k pet

A robot dog owner has offered a £284 reward to find a woman who kicked his £8,500 equipment during a walk in the nightclub district of Brisband, Australia.

Mark Trueno took his robot pet, Stampy, for "GPS and 3D mapping" training in Fortitude Valley on Saturday night (January 7).

He was standing 50metres away from Stampy when it met a young couple walking in opposite direction.

The camera installed on the robot dog's back captured the moment the woman raising her leg and kicking its head.

Her friend, who was waiting to touch Stampy, got up and threw his arms up while apologising to Mark for the woman's action.

"Having some drunk b*tch kick it square in the front facing sensors with enough force to cause damage (thankfully didnt stumble, but she did hurt her leg), I just don't understand what inspires someone to do that just because they've never seen one before," Mark wrote on Facebook where he shared the video.

"It wasn't a case of her being scared, just trying to be funny.

"Considering it probably costs more than her own car, it's just blatant disregard for other people's property… Even her friend was in shock and apologised."

Mark was thinking to let go of it and he realised the damage she had caused to Stampy and decided to issue a reward of AUD$500 (£284) to "whoever can identify the offender".

The damage included "forward-facing depth perception stereoscopic cameras, ultrasonic distance measurement sensors and led array".

His video was viewed 24,000 times as some people commented with a hashtag of "justice for Stampy".

On Monday, Mark gave updates and said the woman reached out to him.

"Yes I spoke to her, she seems to be a really nice girl," he wrote.

"We've all done stupid s***…honestly, I am just glad we didn't have HD cameras or socials 10 years ago.

"She went out of her way to call me and apologise. She said she is going to make it right."
