A terrifying video of a robot dog patrolling a garden armed with a huge assault rifle is nothing to worry about, according to a new investigation.
The clip, which first surfaced on YouTube back in March, shows a robot dog walking up and down a garden at a creepy pace before firing a gun at two targets.
Despite the dog being called a 'killer robot' by online commenters, an investigation has shown that the armed robot dog is just a 'dangerous toy' rather than something in mass production.

Reporters at VICE have traced the gun dog robot back to the founder of a Russian hoverbike company, and believe that he simply attached a normal rifle to a robot dog.
Initially, people were afraid that the robot dog was a new creation of Boston Dynamics, the robotics company famous for its 'dancing robots' videos.
However, it appears that the robot dog is actually a Chinese knock-off of a Boston Dynamics robo-critter.
Meanwhile, it isn't actually in control of the rifle, which is a Russian submachine gun tied to the dog with a remote control.
So fortunately for humanity, this particular armed robot dog is nothing to worry about—not yet, at least.

That doesn't mean there aren't other robot dogs in possession of deadly weapons.
In October, American firm Ghost Robotics unveiled a killer robot dog armed with a sniper rifle that can hit targets from 1.2km away.
The 'Special Purpose Unmanned Rifle' dog has been called 'unstoppable' and can't be pushed over or easily attacked. It could also carry out shootings while perpetrators are hundreds or even thousands of miles away, leaving no trace.
At the time, one Twitter user reacted by saying: "In the post-apocalyptic hellscape [we're] heading towards I would be surprised if we would eventually be hunted for food by the ultra-rich using these robot dogs.
"Nothing is beneath them, when they run out of animals to eat we're next."
