Where you can buy a PS5 in the UK – as new supply drop expected tomorrow

Since its launch last year, Sony’s Playstation 5 has quickly become the fastest selling console in the firm’s history – clearing 10 million units injust nine months .

What’s more, thanks to Covid restrictions, shops worldwide have struggled to meet unprecedented demand for the cutting-edge console. As a result, gamers have been forced to navigate empty shelves, rip-off scalpers, mammoth online queues –and even riots.

In the UK, the console has proved particularly popular: after restocking the PS5 just last week,GAMEandArgosboth sold out completely within a few days.

Luckily, there’s been multiple restocks in the UK this August – and according to some sources, it’s set to be a great week for anyone looking to get their hands on games likeDeathlooporCall of Duty: Vanguard.

Industry analysts predict that Amazon, ASDA, John Lewis, and others are all set to restock their shelves from Tuesday morning onwards.

However, beware: many stores operate a one console-per-household policy, and you may have to wait for hours in an online queue.

As with many major launches, the early bird catches the worm, with orders becoming available around 9AM each day and selling out quickly afterwards.

Although many of the PS5’s launch titles were remasters or reboots of previous-gen PS4 releases, each week brings fresh announcements of new cutting-edge games such as Back4Blood or Ratchet and Clank.

The Playstation 5 is Sony’s most advanced console yet, boasting a native 4K resolution and a frame rate of 150fps.

Gamers can bag a ‘Digital Edition’ of the console for around £360, or pick up a pricier version of the console with a Blu-Ray disc drive for £450. That is, of course, if you can get hold of them.
