A Place in the Sun's Jonnie Irwin leaves buyer in tears before even stepping into property

A PLACE in the Sun's Jonnie Irwin left a buyer in tears before even stepping into one of his property choices.

Last night's episode of the Channel 4 show saw the expert trying to find a house in the French countryside for musical couple Steve and Aniko.

The pair made it clear that they needed two bedrooms, as well as more space for music producer Steve to create some sweet melodies in.

They were willing to part ways with £90,000 to find a perfect home in France’s northwesternmost region of Brittany.

The first property, priced £8,000 over budget, was nice enough for the couple but it didn't quite give them the wow factor.

Steve and Aniko also weren't blown away with the second space Jonnie picked out for them either, despite the fact it boasted an impressive four bedrooms.

To make matters worse it was way over budget costing them a whopping £103,000 if they decided to move in.

However the third place, which was £10,000 under the maximum price they'd spend on a new home, certainly hit them in the feels.

As they rocked up at the property Jonnie knew that he'd hit the jackpot as he watched Aniko overwhelm with emotion about her surroundings.

The house hunter burst into tears and explained to the host: "I got emotional because all I could hear was trees."

The detached barn was everything the couple were looking for, especially considering it had two bedrooms.

They then went on to view the final property, but it seemed that the third left a lasting impression on Aniko.

At the end of the programme the trio got together to discuss what they wanted to do.

To Jonnie's excitement, the decided to put an offer of £75,000 in for viewing number three.

However it was too low and the agent rejected their offer, so after some deliberation they decided to go with a final offer of £79,000.

An ecstatic Jonnie told the couple: "Good, that is the right decision. I’d have thrown you both in the water if you hadn’t said that."

In the same episode the presenter took a VERY cheeky swipe at guest Steve.

The first property had exposed beams and stonework, and Jonnie couldn't help but make a cheeky comment.

Aniko said: "It's nice. I do like quaint things or things that are sort of a bit rustic."

Not missing a beat, Jonnie joked: "Ok. Hence Steve."

Steve laughed and as he pointed at himself he joked back: "Right, the old barn."
