A Place in the Sun's Laura Hamilton stunned as guest calls off property viewing

A PLACE in the Sun's Laura Hamilton was left stunned when a guest decided to abruptly end a house viewing.

The Channel 4 host was tasked with helping Mia find her dream home in the countryside around Alicante, Spain.

With a budget of £170,000, Mia was looking to settle down in the sunny location after taking early retirement and selling her west London home.

Mia's mum Valerie also accompanied her on the property hunt as they viewed five properties choosen by expert Laura.

However, one house left the pair looking for a quick exit as they quickly called off the viewing.

Laura showed them a five-bed apartment in Hondon De Los Frailes on the market at £173,870.

The large detached villa boasted stunning views, a huge garden and a separate holiday apartment on the first floor with a double bedroom, kitchen, shower room and large roof terrace.

The mum and daughter duo explored some of the downstairs room and the garden but were left unimpressed.

Mia told her mum: "I'm not going upstairs."

Valerie agreed and said that the property lacked something special.

"There's no point," Mia explained. "It isn't for me."

Later on, Mia delivered her verdict to Laura who was stunning by the news.

The house hunter told her: "It has a gorgeous garden and fantastic views, but no, it's not for us."

Laura was baffled and told them that it was everything they had asked for on paper.

But Mia explained that she wasn't comfortable with the house and wanted more spacious bedrooms.

Meanwhile, property two was no longer a contender after Mia confirmed it was too far above her budget.

Laura had her work cut out to impress the pair and find a villa with all the right characteristics and within budget.

For property three, the presenter took them to a cave house in Hondon Del Las Nievas.

It boasted five bedrooms, three bathrooms, a large pool and several outbuildings on the market at £195,652.

The property also benefits from a local farmer who comes and takes care of the land and crops.

The villa also had a secret cave area inside the home, which was an instant winner with Mia.

The guest instantly fell in love with the property and explained that she could envision herself with her dog here.

Later on, Mia put in an offer of£161,000, but was rejected by the owner.

Mia increased her offer to £165,000 which was luckily accepted by the owner, leaving her thrilled that she had managed to secure her ideal holiday home.
