The moment we’ve been waiting for in Emmerdale is almost here as Danny Miller is set to make a dramatic return to the Dales as iconic character Aaron Dingle as part of the run-up to the show’s 50th anniversary.
He walks in to a traumatic situation for Liv (Isobel Steele), but ends up getting himself arrested.
Liv is taking some time off work to take care of herself after realising that her mum, Sandra (Joanne Mitchell), was trying to exploit her. But when she gets home she finds Sandra’s accomplice Terry (Neil Bell) there, and he demands that she retract her statement to the police about Sandra.
There’s a scuffle as Liv tries to get away and Terry ends up knocking her down. Liv hits her head as she falls and is seriously hurt.
Terry bolts – straight into Aaron Dingle.
Danny Miller describes the scene as his character returns: ‘He walks in, sees a stranger in his house, he could be anybody but given the state of the panic, Aaron just deals with it by punching as always,’ he says.
‘Just as that happens, Harriet (Katherine Dow Blyton) walks in so she has no choice but to arrest him.’
Paramedics arrive to look after Liv, who is unresponsive.
Meanwhile Chas (Lucy Pargeter) appears, only to see her son – who she didn’t realise was back in the village – being carted away by the police, protesting his innocence.
What a homecoming!
