A new Coronation Street video shows the moment that the police turn up at Billy (Daniel Brocklebank)’s flat – potentially to arrest Aaron (James Craven) for assault.
After Aaron was attacked at home by his abusive father he was left nursing some painful injuries.
When Paul (Peter Ash) confronted him over leading Summer (Harriet Bibby) astray by giving her drugs, after he found weed in his dad’s wallet that he confiscated to stop him buying booze, he grabbed Aaron’s arm.
Aaron winced in pain as the arm was already badly bruised from the beating his father gave him – and lashed out at Paul, punching him in the face.
Paul set off to report Aaron to the police, but Billy caught up with him and calmed him down, telling him that Aaron is a victim of abuse himself and deserving of a second chance.
Paul seemed to relent, but he later told Aaron he should finish with Summer because she didn’t need the drama in her life.
In the video clip Aaron is apologetic for the trouble he’s put Billy to, and Billy tells him, ‘Enough with the sorries. This is not your fault.’
When Aaron’s phone buzzes he silences it, saying he’s doing what he should have done ages ago and cutting contact with his dad. ‘I’ve got nothing to say to him,’ he tells Summer.
The next buzz is the door buzzer and Billy tells the caller they’d better come up. ‘It’s the police,’ he tells Aaron and Summer.
Has Paul gone through with his threat to report Aaron after all?
