Before announcing them, judges Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Sofia Vergara and Heidi Klum have to make hard choices as acts from the final round of season 17 auditions perform in the new episode of the talent competition show.
AceShowbiz -“America’s Got Talent” revealed the Top 54 acts that successfully moved to the next round. But before that, the judges, Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Sofia Vergara and Heidi Klum, had to make hard choices as acts from the final round of “AGT” season 17 auditions performed in the Tuesday, August 2 episode.
Kicking off the night was Emily Bland. The ventriloquist was joined by her husband who is actually the singer. Howie loved the “improvisational lip syncing,” while Simon was “really confused” by the whole act. The pair, however, were sent to the next round as the other judges gave them a yes.
The next act was mentalist couple Mind2Mind who took their mind games to a whole new level. The wife guessed the remaining battery life on Sofia’s phone and guessed an audience’s written memory correctly. Simon was impressed with Sofia saying that she’s a fan of this “mysterious” and “spectacular” act. Unsurprisingly, the pair moved on!
Following it up was Aubrey Burchell, who shared that she has recently been diagnosed as a Level 1 autistic. She blew everyone’s mind with a beautiful and unique rendition of The Weeknd‘s “Call Out My Name”. Simon said that she’s a “genius” and she was sent to the next round.
Hand-balancing act The LADS performed next. While balancing his partner on his head, the other LADS walked down in front of the judges. Sofia dubbed the perfomance “perfect,” but Howie and Simon didn’t think that their act was “that original.” Sofia and Heidi gave them yes, but Howie and Simon voted no.
Mr. Moo Shakes, a drummer who dressed up as a cow and wore a horse mask, then hit the stage. Most judges liked the act and Mr. Moo was sent to the next round. As for singer Bay Turner, he wowed everyone with a rousing rendition of Calum Scott‘s “Biblical”. Judges thought there was something special about Bay so they wanted to see more of him in the next round.
Rope group Waffle also performed that night, showing off their perfect synchronization. Alongside Unreal Crew and Neguin, Waffle got to move on. Meanwhile, Camille K had a bumpy audition. Simon stopped her when she only started singing as he wanted to hear something original from her. Thankfully, she came prepared and the judges couldn’t like her performance more.
The Nerveless Nocks returned after competing on “AGT: Extreme”. The father-daughter duo climbed up extremely long poles in front of the judges with the daughter blindfolded. At the end of their performance, they hung upside down again and let go. Thankfully, they stopped themselves hitting the ground. Simon called it “unbelievable.”
While the judges said yes to 138 acts, they had to narrow it down to just 55 acts. Eventually, it was announced that the 54 acts headed to the season 17 live shows are Acapop!, Aiko Tanaka, Amanda Mammana, Amanda Veranica & Her Incredible Freinds, Amoukanama, Aubrey Burchell, Ava Swiss, Avery Dixon, Bayley Graham, Ben Lapidus, Blade 2 Blade, Celia Munoz, Chapel Hart, Cline Twins, Don Milligan, Drake Milligan, Duo Rings, Freckled Zelda, Funkanometry, Fusion Japan, Harper, Hayden Kristal, Jack Williams, Jannick Holste, JoJo and Bri, Kristen Cruz, Kristy Sellars, Lace Larrabee and Lee Collinson.
Also among the Top 54 acts are Lily Meola, MPLUSPLUS, Madison Baez, Max Ostler, Mayyas, Merissa Beddows, Mervant Vera, Metaphysic, Mia Morris, Mike E Winfield, Mr. Pants, Nicolas RIBS, Oleksandr Yenivatov, Players Choir, Sara James, Shu Takada, Stefanny and Yeeremy, The Brown Brothers, The Lazy Generation, The Pack Drumline, Travis Japan, urbancrew, Wyn Starks, XOMG POP! and Yu Hojin.
