All Creatures Great and Small teases next episode
All Creatures Great and Small viewers were left in tears on Thursday night after James Herriot (played by Nicholas Ralph) and Gerald Hammond (Will Thorp) left Skeldale.
Gerald was unsure whether he would be back, while beloved vet James confirmed he would be returning.
James read out an emotional poem to his wife Helen (Rachel Shenton) before he went off to fight in the war, while Gerald left to go and look after his sister.
As James drove away and a pregnant Helen was left alone at home, the vet read out a poem to bid farewell to his wife.
“My love is like a red, red rose that is newly sprung in June,” James said.
“My love is like the melody that is sweetly played in tune.
