All Creatures Great and Small’s Nicholas Ralph on animal co-stars
All Creatures Great and Small recently gave fans a glimpse into what they can expect to see in the upcoming fourth series of the Channel 5 show.
Last series saw Tristan Farnon (played by Callum Woodhouse) leave Skeldale House and his family behind to go and serve in the Royal Army Veterinary Corps.
Giving fans a sneak peek, the official All Creatures Great and Small Instagram posted pictures of the upcoming series alongside an overview of what is to come.
The caption read: “Channel 5 have today released the first look images ahead of the highly awaited fourth series of #AllCreaturesGreatAndSmall.
“Returning to the beautiful Yorkshire Dales, the fourth series of All Creatures Great and Small continues with timeless tales and heart-warming stories, picking up in springtime of 1940 with change on the horizon for everyone in Skeldale House.

“James and Helen wonder when the right time might be to start a family, not knowing whether or not James will be called up to serve in the RAF.
“Tristan’s absence is felt by all, but no one more than Siegfried who attempts to hold the growing household, and himself, together as he braves this new world.
“Mrs Hall and Helen’s friendship blossoms as they look to the future and new trainee veterinary student Richard Carmody arrives, causing complications in the house.
“The new six-part series, plus a Christmas Special, will air weekly on @Channel5_tv from the autumn.” (sic)

Mrs Pumphrey (Patricia Hodge) will also make her appearance once again alongside her adored pampered Pekingese dog Tricki Woo.
Season three saw Helen Alderson (Rachel Shenton) and James Herriot (Nicholas Ralph) tie the knot and move into Skeldale house, causing tension with Mrs Hall (Anna Madeley).
Meanwhile, Siegfried Farnon (Samuel West) was getting his head around the fact his younger brother Tristan would no longer be around the house and in the practice to help.
With the threat of war, will Helen and James finally be able to start their own family? How will Siegfried cope with a new vet in the practice to work alongside?
All Creatures Great And Small will return to Channel 5 in the UK this autumn.
