AMANDA Holden has landed the part of a cougar in the comedy series Plebs – and she admits the role is just perfect for her.
Amanda, 48, will take on the character of a 'flirty and outrageous' 40-something called Rufina in the popular ITV2 show, which is set in Roman times.
The married cougar, who Amanda describes as "a bit of a tease" will be seen hounding hunky builder Jason as she tries to send his pulse racing.
And the Britain's Got Talent judge has said the part couldn't have been better suited to her.
Amanda said: "I’m playing Rufina who has a very dry sense of humour, she’s flirty and very outrageous. I don’t know where she gets it from!"
Describing Rufina as Joanna Lumley's Ab Fab character Patsy, but in a "Roman frock", she added: "She’s definitely on the prowl, but she’s not prepared to do anything too naughty because she’s married, she just wants a bit of fun.
"She likes to flirt with young, handsome boys! She’s a bit of a tease."
Although she is now famed for her role on the BGT judging panel, alongside her close friend Simon Cowell, Amanda hopes people will remember her roots.
The mum-of-two trained at theatre school and got her first big break in ITV drama Wild At Heart.
In fact, it was her portrayal of her character Sarah Trevanian that lead to Simon offering her a job in 2007.
Amanda said: "The reason I am sat at that judging desk on BGT is because Simon Cowell was a fan of Wild At Heart, which was the biggest drama on ITV at the time. That’s why he wanted me to be a judge.
"Along the way people seem to have forgotten where I started and that I can act so hopefully that will change after this. I love Plebs. It’s quite rude but very funny."
Series 5 of Plebs returns to ITV2 at 10pm on Monday September 30. Amanda will make her debut on October 7 at 10pm.
