Ant McPartlin 'returns to work' with Dec Donnelly nine months after drink-drive shame – and takes his mum and girlfriend Anne Marie Corbett with him

It's the first time he has been back in a studio since his drink-drive conviction nine months ago.

The 43-year-old presenter took most of 2018 off to focus on his well-being following a car crash in March.

Ant was seen with his BFF and presenting partner Declan Donnelly at Elstree Studios in Hertfordshire on Thursday afternoon.

He was also pictured with mum Christine Woodhall and girlfriend Anne who has been his rock since the drink-drive crash in March.

The Geordie duo went to see a recording of Replay 2018, made by their production company and hosted by Richard Osman, which aired on Friday.

The sighting comes as Ant prepares to reunite with Dec for Britain's Got Talent auditions in the New Year.

Ant was all smiles as he headed into the recording, and a source told The Mirror: "Getting back to work has been brilliant for him and seeing Dec was a real boost.

"He’s ready to move into 2019 now and put the past behind him.”

“Ant and Dec’s production company makes the show so they went for a night out to watch it being filmed. Ant was in high spirits and seemed to love being back in a working environment.

“It was great to see them back together again. They haven’t lost their sparkle.”

On Friday Ant tweeted for the first time in over a month, encouraging his fans to watch the ITV show.

He wrote: "***exciting show alert*** Tonight ITV 9pm Re-Play 2018 with Richard Osman. Play along and see if you've been paying attention to 2018. Enjoy!A".

However fans were more interested in the fact the tweet was signed off with an 'A' for Ant, marking the first time he's tweeted since he wished Dec and his I'm a Celebrity stand in Holly Willoughby good luck ahead of their first show on November 18.

The tweet was flooded with well wishes from fans, who can't wait to see Ant back on screens for Britain's Got Talent in the New Year.

One wrote: "Don’t care about the show, just love that Ant tweeted".

Another added: "Miss you Ant" with a heart emoji, while a third tweeted: "Can't wait to see you back on my TV screen Ant! it's not the same without you!!"

A fourth agreed, writing: "So happy to see that 'A' back. Good luck with 2019 boys."
