BBC Breakfast viewers blast ‘unwatchable’ show as they plead for ‘serious’ hosts

BBC Breakfast guest mistaken for girl by Jon Kay

Jon Kay and Victoria Valentine have been blasted by BBC Breakfast viewers who have deemed them “unwatchable” and “not fit” to host the flagship news programme.

Taking to Twitter, one user fumed: “@BBCBreakfast this Victoria person is even more unwatchable than Jon Kay. When I think how far the standard has plummeted from Louise Minchin and Dan Walker, it makes me incredibly sad. Do better. These are not serious people fit to present your flagship show.”

Chris added: “#BBCBreakfast Unwatchable with these two presenters. Absolute f*****g bobbins.”

@Doubltop remarked: “#BBCBreakfast why do these two look like rabbits caught in headlights this morning?”

James Mayes penned: “There’s so much rubbish on #BBCBreakfast. Where’s the news? #bbcnews.”

@Wingersborntogo shared: “#BBCBreakfast can we have the wonderful Victoria Valentine every day please?”

During the episode, some of the topics debated included shops already selling Christmas decorations, carpet recycling and town names pronounced incorrectly.

Weather correspondent Carol Kirkwood also updated viewers about the “extremely dangerous” hurricane hitting Florida, in the US.

Victoria and Jon also interviewed mentalist and illusionist Derren Brown about his latest tour and showed a clip of him hypnotising an audience.

When he joined her on the famous red sofa, Victoria admitted: “When you sat down on the sofa and shook your hand, I got a bit freaked out.

“Am I going to remember my name? Are you going to play tricks on me? Do you get that when people meet you? Are they frightened?”

He laughed and replied: “I think so but it is so odd as in real life, I am not like that at all.”

The 52-year-old insisted he was “shy” in his day-to-day life away from the stage, but Victoria was not convinced.

BBC Breakfast airs daily on BBC One between 6am and 9.15am.
