Harry Lowe reports from Mortlake after Thames burst it’s banks
BBC fans have praised reported Harry Low after he continued with his broadcast despite his bag being stolen live on air.
On Monday night, the journalist was in Mortlake to discuss how Storm Ciaran is causing issues within the local community.
Starting his report, he informed viewers: “The Thames burst its banks here about three hours ago and people are still bailing water out of their cars.
“We are seeing vehicle recovery trucks going back and forth and there is a lot of mud on the ground.”
The segment then cuts to a pre-recorded interview with a member of the public speaking about the floods.

However, when the camera’s cut back to Harry on location, the reporter was clearly taken aback by something as he took a few moments to compose himself.
Although people weren’t able to see what was happening, it’s understood Harry’s possessions had just been taken.
Clearly shocked at what had just happened, the BBC journalist paused for a while before continuing the segment.
He added: “Storm Ciaran on the way. From 6pm on Wednesday there is a yellow weather warning in place.”
Taking to Twitter, the presenter shared the clip of his report as he informed his followers what had happened during the broadcast.

He wrote: “A career first last night – my bag was stolen halfway through our live.”
Despite there being a slight taken aback look on his face after the pre-recorded clip, many people commend how calm he remained in the moment.
