EastEnders will air its Monday episode as normal amid ongoing coverage of the death of Queen Elizabeth II, although it has been displaced from its usual timeslot of 7:30pm.
Thursday’s episode was moved to Friday on BBC Two and the new week, which focuses on the wedding of Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) and Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace), will commence on 8:30pm.
Throughout most of the day, News specials will continue, with The One Show preceding EastEnders at 8pm with an ‘Our Queen Remembered’ edition.
Ongoing drama series The Capture will air its final episode at 9pm as previously billed.
EastEnders is known for including last minute filmed scenes to refer to major national and international events, so fans are expecting a mention of the Queen’s death, although this has not been confirmed.
Queen Elizabeth II died peacefully at the age of 96 in Balmoral, ending a reign of more than 70 years.
Elizabeth’s children – including the new King Charles – flew to the Scottish Highlands on Thursday, so that her family could be at Her Majesty’s side in her final moments.
Buckingham Palace said in a statement: ‘The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon
‘The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.’
The first indication that the Queen’s health had deteriorated came on Wednesday evening when she pulled out of a virtual Privy Council meeting.

The normal schedules of programming from all major broadcasters were suspended for rolling coverage and tributes.
Cast tributes from the soap have poured in, from Brian Conley to Grant Mitchell star Ross Kemp.
Her reign saw a period of significant change with 15 prime ministers serving under her.
She was a stable figure throughout historic events such as the collapse of the British Empire, man landing on the moon, the Cold War and the invention of the internet.
