Ben Shephard argues Susanna Reid has been trying out different men on GMB

Ben Shephard left Susanna Reid red-faced after he said the TV host has been “trying out different men for months” on Good Morning Britain in a savage swipe.

During Thursday’s (July 7) instalment of the popular ITV morning show, the newsreaders welcomed their showbiz correspondent onto the show to discuss the latest news going on in the Love Island villa.

And the biggest question on everyone’s lips is whether or not Jacques O’Neil is going to couple up with Cheyanne Kirr or stay with Paige Thorne after their passionate kiss during last night’s episode (July 6).

But it appears as though Jacques isn’t the only person struggling to find their forever partner as the 47-year-old teased that Susanna is still looking for her permanent replacement on the show after Piers Morgan walked off last March.

As they caught up on the latest drama going on in the Majorcan villa, the 23-year-old professional rugby player was seen putting the moves on the blonde bombshell, also 23, just hours before the Welsh sweetheart is due to return to the villa.

Throughout the day, the northern star argued his kiss with the Leeds lass was acceptable in order to find out whether or not he truly wanted to be with Paige for good.

As the boys sat on the daybed, the sporting hunk said: “How do I know if I've got something good with Paige if I haven’t even given it a chance with someone else?”

It’s fair to say the mum-of-three was unimpressed with his actions after being left speechless by his infidelity onscreen.

It was at this point that the dad-of-two poked fun at his co-star as he jokingly sided with the Islander as they discussed his actions on the show.

Ben quipped: “It's important, it’s important you know you gather all the information you possibly can in order to make a decision. You can’t rush these things, Susanna.”

Still struggling to comprehend the logic behind his actions, the broadcaster asked: “How do I know if you’re the right person for me if I haven’t tried out all the other people?”

Ben couldn’t help but point out the similarities between the brunette beauty during her time on the ITV morning show and the Love Island star.

He argued: “Well, you’ve been trying different men week in, week out for months now on this show. Don’t pretend you’re no different to Jacques.”
