Three more players took on the Tipping Point machine on Monday evening, and determined player Becs was left to face the finale. Although she managed to walk away with just over £3,000, presenter Ben Shephard and several ITV viewers were disappointed by the contestant’s methods of tackling the board.

Ben admitted he was “frustrated” when Becs failed to knock the jackpot counter lose for a bigger payout at the end of Monday’s Tipping Point.

Many viewers were also annoyed when she opted for three one-counter questions in a row during the final round.

The presenter let out a groan when the contestant’s final play didn’t yield a substantial result.

“Oh, frustrating!” he exclaimed in sympathy before delivering the outcome of the game.

“Oh, Becs! You did brilliantly up until the final round,” Ben said.

“You answered some questions, but decided to go for one counter, so we didn’t get as much action on the jackpot counter.

“So, frustratingly, it’s still sitting there on the top shelf… You’ve got no hope of getting the jackpot counter out.”

At the end of each game, fans are asked whether they want to stick with what they had tallied up so far or try again for the jackpot counter.

Contestants could walk away with a whopping £10,000 if they’re successful in knocking the elusive coin to the bottom of the machine.

Becs decided to take home the money rather than going for a final play, and also won a bonus prize of a luxurious hotel stay.

However, viewers couldn’t help but vent at the contestant’s unconventional tactic of sticking to easier questions through most of the final.

@Reflex1eye tweeted: “She clearly hasn’t watched this show before if she can win with one counter.”

@PolygoniaSpec raged: “Christ almighty! Is this a record, three one-counter questions?”

@HU9TIGER asked: “What’s the point of going for one counter each time…”

“Dear Lord, I have never seen anyone go one counter for each category,” Karen Mager remarked.

And @cupcakecoutur12 claimed: “I’m sorry but taking one counter is on a par with the minus offer on The Chase.”

However, Jack Brown argued in her defence: “Give her a break, she’s very young and be delighted with £3000. Well done Becs.”

Viewers were also let down by Becs’ performance when she admitted she hadn’t heard of the famous novel by Jules Verne, Around the World in Eighty Days.

Nevertheless, the player performed admirably and walked away with an impressive cash prize after another tough bout against the Tipping Point machine.

Tipping Point airs weekdays at 4pm on ITV.
