Ben Shephard was quick to praise his Good Morning Britain co-star Kate Garraway on Friday's show, after she received a major accolade.
After facing a year of heartache, with the hospitalization of her beloved husband Derek Draper, the 53-year-old presenter was named Hello's Inspiration of the Year at last night's Good Morning Britain's 1 Million Minutes Awards.
However, Ben took it one step further and suggested Kate should also win the Daily Star's Woman of the Year Award.
The dad-of-two explained viewers had been praising the award-winning star over social media, delighted to see her accept the dong.
However, he then claimed Kate had been "named Daily Star's Woman of the Year".
Kate spotted the blunder and pointed out he'd confused the title, only for Ben to pay a sweet tribute to a pal.
Ben claimed Kate was worthy of the second dong, saying: "You must be the Daily Star's Woman of the Year."
Ben then added: "Congratulations Kate."
Later in the episode, Ben made the same slip-up, yet again suggesting Kate ought to be named the Daily Star's leading lady.
Introducing her to viewers, he said: "Daily Star Woman of the Year Kate Garraway."
In disbelief, Kate exclaimed: "What is wrong with you? Do you want to be Daily Star's Man of the Year?"
Ben joked: "I'd quite like to be anyone's man of the year!"
The presenters, who celebrated 20 years of friendship this year, were left laughing over Ben's remark, as viewers rushed to congratulate Kate on her well-deserved award.
One wrote: "Congratulations Kate with what you and many others have suffered this year is heartbreaking the award couldn't have gone to a more deserved lady hope you have great Christmas and a better new year keep smiling."
"Congratulations on your Hello Star Woman of the Year Award, so well deserved. You are an inspiration and always make us smile." added a second.
And a third announced: "Congratulations Kate. Well deserved award. Inspiration to others xx"
