Britain’s Got Talent 2020 has officially made its return and fans are already getting emotional at the spellbinding acts.
Simon Cowell reunited with his fellow judges Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and David Walliams who were all faced with the difficult decision of who to send through to the next round.
However, one hopeful made it rather easy for the panel to decide – even if he didn’t have too much faith in himself.
Taking to the stage, Yakub emerged in a gold and brown one piece which was covered in animal print, and instantly melted Alesha’s heart.
‘Oh, you’re just adorable,’ the singer gushed as the little one introduced himself and told the celebrities that he was just 10-years-old.
The Boy Does Nothing hitmaker quizzed: ’10-years-old! And I presume you will be dancing today, how long have you been dancing for?’
Yakub confessed he’d taken to the sport just two years ago, seeing the pop star ask whether or not he believed he could win the competition.
Looking rather coy, the performer shook his head as he said: ‘No.’
The crowd all gasped as Alesha said: ‘No! That’s the wrong answer, you’ve got just as good a chance as anyone. Absolutely, we’re all on your side so go for it.’
Yakub then put on an incredible contemporary routine to the Disney classic, seeing him leap into the air while he twisted and turned at every beat.
Simon was impressed with what he saw and said the rising talent had ‘star quality’.
And trying to encourage the schoolboy, Amanda beamed: ‘After hearing all that do you think you could win?’
However, Yakub still wasn’t sure as he thought for a long time before shaking his head again and whispering: ‘No.’
Fans were quick to take to Twitter where they flooded Yakub with support.
‘I’m crying. Yakub was amazing and you can tell he’s not used to being told so!’ one wrote while another added: ‘Yakub is absolutely brilliant! I hope he gains some confidence and realises just how talented he is!’
Someone else said: ‘Yakub is breaking my heart! What a beautiful little boy! Absolutely INCREDIBLE dancer and doesn’t even realise it.’
And it seems many more were in agreement: ‘Yakub absolutely brilliant. A really humble little guy, who doesn’t know how good he is. Really hope he does well in the competition.’
Britain’s Got Talent continues Saturday at 8pm on ITV.
