Will Taylor (Dean Andrews) has already found himself at loggerheads with Caleb Milligan (William Ash) in Emmerdale, as the smooth-talking businessman has wasted no opportunity in winding Will up after going into business with Kim (Claire King). The way Caleb makes himself at home at Home Farm has left Will fuming as he feels undermined by the newcomer.
In tonight’s episode Will clashed with Cain (Jeff Hordley) after offering to take Kyle (Huey Quinn) to play with Lucas (Noah Ryan Aspinall) at the playground while Amy (Natalie Ann Jamieson) ran an errand. Amy had given Will specific instructions that Cain wasn’t to go near Kyle because it’s a condition of the boy’s bail that he shouldn’t have any contact with his dad until after his hearing because Cain is a witness to Kyle’s shooting of Al Chapman (Michael Wildman).
So when Cain appeared near the playground and Kyle spotted him, Will put his foot down and there was a tense exchange of words between Cain and Will.
This was defused by the arrival of Caleb, who took Cain away from the situation. Cain was worried that Amy was driving a wedge between him and his son, but Caleb reassured him it wasn’t the case. Meanwhile Amy was making the decision to go for sole custody of Kyle once the case is over – a decision which will infuriate Cain, which is why she doesn’t plan to tell him personally but will leave it to her solicitors.
But back to today, and some wise words from Moira (Natalie J. Robb) made Cain think that perhaps he needed to tone down his behaviour for everyone’s sake, or risk losing Kyle altogether. So when he and Caleb saw Will in the Woolpack later, Cain went over and apologised for the earlier argument at the playground.
Will should have realised that apologies from Cain Dingle are rarer than hens teeth and gracefully accepted, but of course he didn’t. He just wound Cain right back up again and called him a ‘headcase.’ Caleb came over when he saw things were about to kick off. ‘He’s here. Other Chuckle Brother,’ Will remarked. He told the brothers they didn’t get to push him around. ‘Any time you feel like trying – I’m ready.’
Cain looked ready to punch him at that point and Caleb sensibly moved him away. But Cain hasn’t finished with Will Taylor.
‘Don’t you worry,’ he told his brother. ‘He’s going to get what’s coming to him.’
It looks like Will needs to watch his back, and we know that Cain doesn’t waste any time in getting revenge.
But is Cain unwittingly also playing into whatever agenda Caleb has against Will as he seems to be on a mission to get his hands on Home Farm?
