There’s some massively shocking news for Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) in upcoming Emmerdale episodes, as she gets a mysterious phone call that sends her spiralling.
She’s so upset that Mackenzie (Lawrence Robb) is convinced she’s found out about him being the father of Chloe (Jessie Elland)’s baby as she grabs a bottle of vodka and heads out to clear her head. ‘She’s quite volatile in her reaction,’ Emma Atkins told us.
In her agitated state, Charity picks up Caleb (William Ash)’s car keys which he’s dropped on the ground. Emma described what happens next and how Cain (Jeff Hordley) is forced to come along for the ride.
‘She sees that Caleb has dropped his car keys and she just feels reckless and grabs the keys. Then Cain catches her doing it and she immediately becomes this teenage girl again and wants to just be rebellious. Who better to be rebellious with than her sidekick back from her teenage years? He tries to get out of the car but she whizzes off at a pace so it’s impossible for him to get out.’
Emma said that the news Charity receives makes her ‘emotionally vulnerable,’ and she and Cain have a conversation about where they both are in their lives.
‘She has a heart-to-heart with Cain and turns to him afterwards and asks him what are they doing,’ Emma explained. ‘Obviously, she is dealing with this thing and Cain has his issues with Caleb because he doesn’t trust him at this point and she makes him question why. They both reflect on their own behaviour and their destructive ways.’
But what’s this massive news that Charity is dealing with, and why is her reaction so extreme?
