Call the Midwife on the BBC has produced 10 seasons of the 1960s set medical drama. Fans in the UK recently watched the first episode of season 10 but it hasn’t aired the first episode of the season in the US on PBS. When can fans in the USA watch season 10?

When is season 10 out in the US?

US fans still have some time to wait before they can return to Nonnatus House.

The BBC produced drama airs on PBS over in the States, with new seasons usually coming a few months after the UK premiere.

Season 10 will release on PBS in October 2021, giving fans another five months before they get to see the show again.

The 10th season will be immediately followed by the next holiday special, which will air on Christmas Day, 2021.

Call the Midwife is one of PBS’ most popular shows, reaching over 10 million viewers per episode.

PBS has released a season synopsis ahead of the show’s release: “Everyone at Nonnatus House looks forward to a traditional holiday, but nothing goes quite to plan.

“Meanwhile, the Circus arrives in Poplar, bringing new friendships, new experiences and an exciting adventure for Nurse Crane.”

In the UK, the new season premiered on April 18, with new episodes still airing on BBC One.

The season is also available to watch on BBC iPlayer and BritBox UK.

Fans in the US will have to avoid spoilers for the new season, with the first episode already dropping in the UK.

The new season will continue the show’s tradition of eight episodes with the additional Christmas special as well.

Call the Midwife doesn’t look to be slowing down anytime soon either, with more seasons on the horizon.

Season 11 will commence filming soon, with season’s 12, 13 and 14 all already confirmed by the BBC.

Series creator Heidi Thomas added to the BBC announcement saying: “We are thrilled to be going on for a few more years!

“Like Nonnatus House itself, we have a proud past but an even more exciting future – full of old favourites, fresh faces, higher hemlines, new ideas,” she added.

Executive producer Pippa Harris also commented during the BBC announcement, saying: “We are all delighted by this vote of confidence from the BBC, and are looking forward to delivering more laughter, tears and babies for our loyal fans.”

She continued: “Over the past 10 years it has been an honour to see how warmly the show has been embraced by audiences around the world.”
