Hilarious moment Helen George’s dog licks itself during live interview
Call the Midwife star Helen George had an embarrassing moment this morning as her dog decided to lick himself in the middle of an interview on BBC’s Morning Live.
The 39-year-old, who plays newlywed nurse Trixie in the show, was appearing via video link to talk about the much loved period drama’s upcoming Christmas special and her new West end role in the King and I.
As the chat with hosts Gethin Jones and Kym Marsh began her dog could be seen dozing on a bed in the background.
Having noticed Gethin staring at her pet pooch she decided to introduce him joking he was having a morning nap and had decided he “needed a bit of airtime”.
Charlie took that as his cue to jump up and started rolling around the bed as Helen struggled not to laugh.

“Sorry, he’s misbehaving,” Helen apologised but his antics seemed to have endeared him to Gethin who said that while Helen was the “star of the stage” Charlie had been “the star of today”.
Unfortunately, Charlie picked that moment to start licking his crotch live on air.
An embarrassed Helen covered her mouth while giggling nervously and imploring: “Charlie, stop that!”
She did her best to cover him from the camera but it was too late as his antics had already been broadcast.
Presenter Kym could be heard laughing and a red-faced Helen said: “I’m sorry,” before the camera cut back to Gethin in the studio.

Laughing, Gethin said it was too early to witness this behaviour and said was worried people could still be “eating their shortbread”.
Even the crew in the studios could be heard chuckling as Gethin tried to move things along and joked it was time to “move on quickly”.
Before the embarrassing moment, Helen did manage to tease details of the upcoming Call the Midwife festive special, saying that it was set to “pull on the heartstrings” and would likely see them have a “Christmas cry alongside their sherry”.
Morning Live airs weekdays from 9.15am on BBC One.
