Carol Kirkwood cosies up to rarely seen fiancé after running off BBC Breakfast

BBC Breakfast star Carol Kirkwood looked more loved up then ever as she cosied up to her fiancé Steve Randall during a snowy trip to Norway.

The weather presenter, 60, shared a selection of snaps from their getaway as she beamed alongside her 47-year-old husband-to-be.

The tweet marks the first social media post for the couple, who like to keep their relationship away from the public eye.

Carol shared two snaps as she beamed alongside her fiancé as well as some stunning shots of the Norwegian mountains.

Alongside the four photos, the meteorologist penned: "What a difference a week makes! This time last week Steve and I were in the snow in beautiful Norway."

The BBC star has been in a relationship with the police officer since 2021 and announced their engagement live on BBC Breakfast in May 2022.

As Carol presented the weather from the Chelsea Flower Show, Sally Nugent couldn't help but quiz her on the glitzy silver ring on her left hand.

She told a beaming Carol: "I'm a little bit concerned about you this morning. I don't know how you're managing to stand up with that giant rock on your left hand, Carol!" as her co-star Jon Kay collapsed into giggles.

Glancing down at her hand, Carol joked: "Oh, that one? Thank you Sal! It is rather nice, I got engaged."

Sally gushed: "Congratulations from all of us! It's the happiest news, we are so, so delighted. Congratulations."

But she then appeared to backtrack, asking Carol: "Can we confirm to the nation what's happened?"

Thankfully, a giggling Carol said: "Yes! I think you just have, Sal. Yes, I got engaged. We got engaged when we were on holiday. So it's lovely news and we're both thrilled, so thank you!"

Carol's trip to Norway explains her absence on BBC Breakfast last week after the star was "replaced" in a show shake-up.

Presenters Sally and Jon took up their usual spots on the red sofa, but it was fellow weatherman Matt Taylor who stepped in for the beloved Scottish star.

Addressing Carol's whereabouts, Matt told the presenters: "This morning I think Carol has run off with a bit of sunshine in her bag".
